Description of Event/Crime : On 08/07/2011 Sarah DeLorenzo who is an
elderly female, called to report her personal checks stolen by her great
grandson (Tommy J. Coogler). According to Mrs. DeLorenzo, Tommy was in
jail for burglary related crimes, and given the name "Pillow Case
bandit" by the media for his techniques in using vitims pillow cases to
steal items from within their homes. Mrs. DeLorenzo allowed Tommy to
live with her until he found a perminant residence. During the Tommy
Tommy lived with Mrs. DeLorenzo, several of her personal checks were
stolen. Mrs. DeLorenzo was notified by her bank of the stolen checks
being cashed with her forged signature on the bottom. I recieved copies
of each check, that were paid to the order of Mikayla Puckett, and Jaden
Kelsey. Through investigative databases I obtained contact information
for Mikayla and Jaden. I contacted both individuals who agreed to be
interviewed. Both female individuals advised that Tommy told them each
check!
was legit, and written to them by his grandmother because he did not
have a bank account. Tommy called both females and advised them to lie
to me when I asked them about the checks. Based on the statements
obtained, all individuals were charged with raceteering, forgery, and
fraud.
