Description of Event/Crime : On 12/09/10 at 2339 hours NE officers were
dispatched to 6510 Americas Parkway in reference to an auto-burglary in
progress. Officer was the first to arrive on scene at 2340 hours. As he
was approaching the scene he observed a vehicle matching the description
of the offenders' vehicle leaving the parking lot. Officer initiated a
traffic stop and detained the subjects until backup officers arrived.
When officer made his initial approach to the vehicle he observed four
individuals and a large pile of property in the vehicle (including a
tool box and a set of golf clubs). (the primary officer) then arrived on
scene to assist with the traffic stop. At this time Officer made contact
with one of the two victims who identified the golf clubs along with
many other stolen items that were located in the suspects' vehicle. Four
suspects were arrested and charged with Auto-Burglary, Conspiracy and
Possession of Burglary Tools. Because the victim was passing through
town to a job in St. Louis NE field officers wrote a search warrant for
the vehicle in order to facilitate the victims need to retrieve his
property quickly. The search warrant was executed at 0234 hours on
12/10/10 and the owner's property was receipted back to them at 0349
hours. Within four hours of the call coming out officers located the
offenders, investigate the crime, executed a search warrant and booked
the offenders.
