Description of Event/Crime : On 12/2/2011 Officers were dispatched to
an in progress Residential Burglary at 9920 Canyon Gate Tr. SW, that was
called in by a neighbor who saw one of the subjects inside the

offenders were identified as Shaun Anaya and Joseph Anaya. Shaun
advised that he was contracted by the Home Owners association to check
on gas and electrical meters from the outside of the house, and he was
the Owner of Olive Tree Property Management Caretakers. Joseph advised
he was picked up by his brother to go with him to check on a property,
and his is not an employee or owner of Olive Tree. Officers noted that
there were pry marks around the door locks that were removed and
replaced with new ones. The Home Owner arrived on scene and advised that
he is in the process of selling the residence, and some property was left
there. He said that he had recently listed the property because he had
purchased another home, and no one was given permission to be inside or
rent his residence. He said that he had returned to his residence
yesterday to retrieve property and the locks were changed. After
speaking with his bank who advised they did not have anyone go out and
change locks and he was in good standing with his loan. He then called
311, and he was directed to contact Safe City Task force. He was
advised that there are scams occurring where people were accessing
vacant homes and renting them out, so he told his neighbor to call
police if they saw anyone in his home. As officers were on scene a
female subject arrived advising that she had recently rented the
property from Olive Tree Property management. She had made two payments
equaling $1,800 to Shaun Anaya and picked up keys to the residence from
Shaun's office. She said that she was contacted by Shaun today to leave
the key under the door mat so he could turn on the gas. She further
advised that on one of the days she meet with Shaun at the residence she
witnessed him and two other unidentified subjects removing property from
the residence. When the home Owner entered his residence he noted that
several items were missing from the residence. White Collar Detectives

involving Shaun Anaya. The on-call Burglary detective was also notified
of the incident. Field officers were advised to forward the case to
both White Collar and Burglary. Officer Richards arrested Shaun Anaya
