SE Officers Arrest Felon During Tact Plan

Description of Event/Crime  :     Three members of South East Team 6 were conducting a “Stop sign Tact” Plan at the intersection of Eastern and Ortiz.  During the tact plan they conducted a traffic stop on a silver Chevrolet for a stop sign violation.  After contacting the occupants and checking the driver’s license, registration and insurance, the driver suddenly fled from the vehicle. Officer Nieves #5402, calmly called out the driver’s direction of travel and the suspect was located by Officer Tran #5401 and Officer Doose #5400 a few blocks away and detained with out incident.  The driver who was identified as Anthony Manuel Sanchez (DOB: 03/23/1976), a self admitted Barelas gang member who goes by the moniker of “Puppet” and was just released from prison in December of 2010.

     Sanchez was confirmed to have parole violation warrant, and is under supervision of P & P for a felony conviction of:

1.      Aggravated assault on a household member with a deadly weapon.
2.      Unlawful taking of a motor vehicle
3.      Aggravated Battery on a household member
 Sanchez was also found in possession of prescription drugs and received additional felony charges.
