High-lethality DV arrest

Location of Offense : Lovelace Hospital - Golf Course/Ellison

Victim 2 Name : 6 victims

Suspect/Offender 1 Name : Richard Blea

Suspect/Offender 1 DOB : 05/04/84

Description of Event/Crime : Mr. Blea has been involved in over 10
reported incidents of domestic violence, against six different victims
over the past ten years. Mr. Blea's past charges include Aggravated
Stalking and Aggravated Assault. The FASTT Unit identified Mr. Blea as
a high-lethality domestic violence offender with a threat assessment
score of 7 out of a possible 10. (70% likelihood of committing a future
high-lethality crime)

Due to Mr. Blea's threat to the victim and the community, FASTT
Detectives conducted surveillance at 9010 Galisteo Pl NW in an attempt
to apprehend Mr. Blea on numerous outstanding DV misdemeanor and felony
warrants. FASTT Detectives received a tip that Mr. Blea might be at
Lovelace Hospital located at Golf Course/Ellison. The FASTT Unit
immediately established a "non-intrusive" perimeter at the hospital.
After a short search of the hospital grounds, Mr. Blea was located
hiding inside an evaluation room, at which time he was taken into
custody.
