Description of Event/Crime : Officers responded to 8300 Trumbull SE in
reference to an armed robbery. The victims advised officers they had
been robbed at gunpoint by three subjects and one of them struck a 14
year old victim in the face with the handgun, breaking his jaw. A
description was given out and officers who were working a robbery tact
plan in the area command responded to the area. While looking for the
offenders the officers working the tact plan located several subjects
fitting the description at 9600 Zuni SE. The subjects attempted to flee
but were quickly detained and taken into custody. Three of the suspects
were positively identified by the victms. The gun was located in the
back yard of a residence after they attempted to dispose of it, along
with a holster and magazine. Detective Heyman from robbery responded to
the scene to interview all parties involved. It is also believed these
same subjects were responsible for an earlier robbery where they
attempted to take the victims vehicle and fired a round at the victim.
That investigation is still ongoing.
