Description of Event : On Friday June 8 and Saturday June 9, members of
APD Auto Theft, Property crimes, Safer New Mexico Now, Safe Kids
International and Mark Casa Chevrolet Jeep Eagle held a community event
at two different locations within Albuquerque. On Friday June 8, APD,
NMSP, AFD, Safer New Mexico Now, and Safekids International held a car
seat clinic and child identification event at Lomas and Louisiana. 25
child safety seats were inspected and re-installed and over 50 children
were fingerprinted and photographed. On Saturday June 9, the APD Auto
Theft unit with the assistance of APD property crimes, crime stoppers,
PSA's Tyler Carmen and Matt Murphy vin etched 113 vehicles. Safer NM,
APD, Santa Fe PD,and AFD inspected 42 child safety seats, and 122
children were photographed and finger printed by Safekids. Thanks to
all of the support units, DWI, Traffic, Horses, and SWAT that showed up
for the static display and a special thanks to Detective Joel Block for
helping coordinate the VIN etching and Mark Wiggins owner of Mark Casa
for providing the space to do the event.
