Sent from my iPhoneAPD OFFICERS RESCUE A TRAPPED AND INJURED HAWK

This morning Officer Larry Smyth and Officer Stanley Gray were driving
to the firearms range for work when they came upon a hawk that was
tangled in barbed wire. The hawk was trapped and visibly injured. The
Officers stopped and calmed the hawk down as best they could while they
worked to eventually free the hawk from the barbed wire.
The officers then immediately transported the hawk to a wildlife rescue
specialist in Northeast Albuquerque, Marian Hamburg.

Marian is now rehabilitating the bird and said that the officers
definitely saved this hawk's life. She said that the hawk was trapped
in the wire possibly overnight and has skin ripped from the leg/groin
area. She commended the officers for being brave enough to free the
bird of prey and stated the bird would have died had they not taken
action.
