Description of Event/Crime : Within the last week detectives with West
Side Narcotics received information about an illegal Mexican national,
identified as Omar Lerma-Alanso, trafficking large quantities of
methamphetamine in the metro area. On 11/15/11 detectives took Mr.
Alanso and his girlfriend, Ms. Ashley Rivera, into custody after
arranging to purchase a quantity of methamphetamine from him. A search
warrant was obtained for Mr. Alanso's vehicle, and a subsequent search
revealed one pound of methamphetamine concealed within the vehicle. The
case was referred to HSI for possible federal prosecution. Detective
