Shot Fired at UNMH

At 3:10 p.m. the Albuquerque Police Department was called to the University of New Mexico Hospital on a report of shooting on the sixth floor of the Richardson Pavilion. The hospital was placed on lockdown and the first arriving officers started searching for suspect. Witnesses on scene told officers that a female patient was with her child in a room when the woman's boyfriend came in and started arguing with her. During the dispute the man started hitting the woman and family members immediately intervened. While family was trying to get control of the man, he pulled out a small caliber handgun. The suspect purposely fired the Handgun and t fled. No one was hit or injured. For more than an hour numerous agencies searched inside ad outside the hospital. Surveillance video shows the man leaving the hospital about an hour after the incident. The search continues for the suspect. The lockdown at the hospital has been lifted and UNMH is now accepting patients. APD has identified the suspect as Daniel Cesar Dominguez-Garcia, 5-29-89 Sgt.
